The Ghana Education Service (GES) has rescheduled the reopening of Form 3 students at Senior High School (SHS) to May 5.
This was after management considered a recommendation from the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools, according to a Facebook post (CHASS).
The Service said, “This applies to all Form 3 students (single track and double track schools). Further details will be announced. All other arrangements on the calendar remain unchanged.”
The reopening for SHS freshmen was delayed by GES last month from March 18 to March 21.
According to Anthony Boateng, the Deputy Director-General, the initiative is being taken to allow students who have had problems with self-placement time to finish the procedure.
He also urged those who haven’t finished their school’s admissions process to take advantage of the extension.
The rescheduling would also allow parents more time to schedule their children for kindergarten, as well as schools more time to prepare to host them, according to the Service.
GES has also encouraged parents to ensure that their children leave home with enough nasal masks to shield themselves from Covid-19, and school administrators have been charged with ensuring that Covid-19 procedures are strictly followed.
