Manchester United defeated Manchester City for the third time in a row at the Etihad Stadium.
This win could just beat out the other two, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer not only ended Pep Guardiola’s 21-game winning streak, but he did so without main players Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani.
Though Scott McTominay and Fred have done admirably without the French midfielder, United have been unable to fill Cavani’s gap up front during his absence.
Anthony Martial, who was supposed to be United’s first-choice striker this season, has largely struggled to offer the 34-year-old striker proper competition.
Despite this, the Frenchman stepped up big time in the Manchester derby, demonstrating what he’s capable of when he’s on top of his game.

Anthony Martial just bullied the two best defenders in the league for nearly 90 minutes. He'd be some player if he could play like that more often. pic.twitter.com/FLbiyzO5c3

Despite failing to register a goal, the 25-year-old put in a man-of-the-match performance. His dribbling into a packed City box resulted in a penalty for Gabriel Jesus, which was then scored by Bruno Fernandes to hand the visitors an early lead.
Solskjaer was ecstatic with Martial’s performance and would be hoping the forward will repeat his ‘Anthony of old’ more frequently.
