The components of an electricity transformer belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have been robbed by alleged criminals.
The transformer was built in Hattah, in the Volta Region’s Ketu North constituency, along the Ho to Denu highway.
Since removing the transformer from the poles, the alleged robbers dismantled it and removed the internal parts, leaving the empty case behind.
ECG technicians repaired the transformer two years ago to relieve the strain on the overworked and aging transformer.

The transformer, according to residents who arrived at the scene, was not triggered because it was attached to the poles.
The incident was reported to the local police department.
